Dove Govrin included in unique Collaborative Interfaith Art Exhibit—Show opens Dec 3

WWS-certified qigong Instructor, Dove Govrin, who is also a Movement Therapist and Ceramic Artist, continues to integrate her interests fluidly. What she practices in movement, she creates in art.

This year, as a participant in an Collaborations and Connections Art Exhibition, three pieces created by Dove and her interfaith collaborators will be included among the works of 30 groups of artists from Muslim, Jewish and Christian faiths making art together.

Everyone is invited to the opening reception of this special Interfaith Collaborations and Connections Art Exhibit on December 3, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, that will be held at the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California (ICCNC), 1433 Madison Street, Oakland, CA 94612.

The exhibit will be open for public viewing on Fridays and Saturdays, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the gallery space of the ICCNC (Upper Level), until February 24, 2018.

When Dove is not creating art, she teaches 10 weekly Qigong classes, including 3 Dayan Qigong classes in Marin.

About the Exhibit:

“Collaboration and Connection” is the fourth interfaith art exhibition hosted by the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California (ICCNC) and brings together artists from many faiths to express their commitment to interfaith understanding, coexistence, peace, and cultural dialogue. The impetus for this powerful exhibition is the desire to build bridges and create friendships through artistic collaboration.
Thirty teams of artists have risen to the challenge of creating collaborative artwork with unique and stunning creations in a wide variety of mediums including painting, clay, fabric, metalwork, glass, found materials, photography, origami and much more.
This art exhibition is sponsored by the Faith Trio, a 16 year alliance of the ICCNC with two other congregations in the Oakland area: Kehilla Community Synagogue and Montclair Presbyterian Church. Local non-profits, foundations, and community partners are also sponsors of the exhibition.
The opening reception will take place at the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California, 1433 Madison Street, Oakland, on Sunday, December 3, 1-4 PM.
